Lingeswary Balarajan

Linga joined Sri Lanka Law College in 1989 and offered apprenticeship at Attorney General’ s Department for 6 months and qualified as an Attorney-at-law, Company Secretary and Notary Public in 1992. She assisted Mr N.D.R Casie Chitty, Senior Lawyer in his Notary work from 1993 to 1994.

Linga began working for Hirdaramani Group of Companies in 1994, a leading import and export group of companies as a Legal officer and handled all legal and secretarial matters. Whilst she was working there she got an offer from JB Group of Companies and dealt with all legal, Secretarial, Trademarks and Patents related to one of the leading import and export company in Sri Lanka.

Legal Career in the UK:
Linga was employed at a high street law firm specialising, among others in Property and Immigration law and qualified as a Solicitor in April 2006.

She offered services to the Home Office as an Interpreter being in the Home Office Central Interpreters Unit panel from April 2006 to April 2016.

Linga has been working as a Solicitor at Jay Visva Solicitors since April 2016 specialising in UK Immigration and Nationality Law also particular expertise in EU free movement and permanent residence in the UK for EEA nationals and their non-EEA family members, involving complicated applications in EU free movement jurisprudence, family-based applications, applications for indefinite leave to remain in the UK and naturalisation and registration as British citizens. Also she assists the Conveyancing Department in Residential and Commercial Conveyancing.
